Changshan war-drum has a long history, which had its embryo early in Warring Period, and prevailed in the Ming Dynasty. It is a folk gong-drum made up of some percussion instruments such as drum, big-cymbals, mid-cymbals, small-cymbals, small-gong and so on. It is mainly used in performance in square. The team of Changshan war-drum is constituted of more than forty provisional peasantry drummer, who once took park in the open performing of the 11th Asian Sport Meeting in Beijing in 1990, and got the high appraise.

    Hebeibangzi is a main local opera in Hebei. It roots in early shanxibangzi. It has about 140 years history. It comes from the villages of Hebei and distributes over Hebei province. It once prevails not only in the great cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, but also spread all over Shandon and northeast. It is a great opera that the popular area is extensive and the effect is very strong. Its list of plays contains the traditional list and the fashionable-dress opera list.     Caibuningtai platform from Dayinbao village of Handan, is a kind of folk industrial arts with a long history and unique style. Caibuningtai is a kind of traditonal art that people wring the colorful clothes into archaize opera-buildings or pavilions according to the design on the base of wood-platform. All from platform-ridges, tiles, birds and animals to round-posts, square-lattices, arch and steles are wringed. And all feathers, flowers, characters and flower patterns are lifelike and very butiful.

    Wood-board drum, also called “drum rapid book”, has the strong local feature, is the most popular opera in Shijiazhuang area. Its birthday can't be verified, but in the last century has been the most famous actor Zhaolaowan. It absorbs the mid-Hebei ballad and “cry out” in the markets. Early was popular in Shenze, Wuji and Gaocheng counties, and then got developed in mid-Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin. Its librettos are exoteric, tone strong, and rich in the local feature. It could be sung only one or two people, accompanied with wood-board and a small drum. It is easy to study.

    As a kind of special opera, Baoding laodiao has the strong local feature and full-bodied country tinge. Its tone is unvarnished and healthy, strong and graceful. Laodiao is very popular in local mass, and the local people often sing the tone in the street. So it is said that cooking can't run short of the boiler, and listening to operas can't run short of laodiao. Laodiao has been four performances in Beijing, and gets lots of good praise from the capital people, leader and expert. The central leaders once encouraged that Baoding has its treasure that is laodiao.
